Thomas Davis Obituary

A visitation celebrating the life of Thomas Taylor Davis, Jr. will be held on Friday, November 30, 2018 6-8 PM at Craddock Funeral Home in Ardmore, OK. A Memorial service for Tom and Liz will be held on December 15, 2018 at Memorial Park Cemetery in Bartlesville, Oklahoma.
Tom was born on August 12, 1923 in Bartlesville, Oklahoma to Thomas Taylor Davis, Sr. and Sophie (Deitz) Davis. He passed from this life on November 26, 2018, in Ardmore, at the age of 95. He and Elizabeth "Liz" Sheridan were married on November 18, 1944 by her father at the First Christian Church in Bartlesville, Oklahoma. They were high school sweethearts, and were married for 72 years. After two long years, Tom accomplished his goal of being back with the love of his life, Liz, who had preceded him in death.
Tom was an Engineer Technician for Conoco Phillips for many years. He could fix anything, and loved to tinker with things. He loved fly fishing in the Snake River in Idaho, and took his family camping often with other family friends. Following his retirement, he and Liz loved spending time at their cabin in Island Park, Idaho. They made many special relationships with their friends there. Tom became an avid golfer, then also became an avid computer user, teaching himself to do things that most people his age had never conquered.
Tom had a special love for animals, and loved his dogs Rosie, Luna, Smoochie, and his cat, Hope. There was always an extra bite of food in case one of his animals was hungry.
Loyalty and love for family was of upmost importance to Tom. His children, grandchildren and great grandchildren were the light of his life.
Tom was preceded in death by his parents Thomas, Sr. and Sophie; wife Liz Davis; sisters Mary Ellen Butcher, Frances Brunstetter; brother-in-laws Alvin Butcher, Galen "Buddy" Brunstetter and sister-in-law Martha Ferguson. He is survived by his daughters Cindy Morgan and Pam Kimbrough of Ardmore, Donna Scott and husband Stan of Caney, Kansas; son Mike Davis and wife Pat of Lake Stephens, Washington; seven grandchildren Carrie Comier and husband Dave of Lake Stephens, Washington, Jon Davis and wife Brenda of Silver Springs, Maryland, Darin Morgan and Robin of Norman, OK., Jeremy Morgan and wife Stephanie of Rowlett, TX., Nick Morgan of Oklahoma City, OK., Travis Scott and wife Sara of Elk City, Kansas, Clay Scott and wife Chelsea of Havana, Kansas; great grandchildren Abbi, Alli, Mimi, Emilie, Sam, Grace, Stella, Julia, Stockton, Gatlin, Vivienne, and a baby girl due in February. Tom is also survived by several nieces, nephews, friends and his special caregiver, Brenda Anderson who became, and always will be, part of the family.
