1968 - 2023

CLIFFORD MAYFIELD Clifford Mayfield of Seminole, Fla., formerly of Independence, Mo. passed away on July 4, 2023, after a two year battle with pancreatic cancer. Ciff was born on April 30, 1968, in Kansas City, Mo. to Walter Mayfield Sr. and Mary Mayfield. Cliff graduated from Fort Osage High School in 1986. After his graduation he served in the United States Army. Following his military service, he would go on to have a successful career in sales. He was known as the "Tie Dye Guy" in the Real Estate industry. Cliff loved animals. Cats were some of the biggest joys of his life. He enjoyed the beach, traveling, working on cars, music, making people laugh and Royals and Chiefs games. Cliff was always open to new adventures and experiences. He was known for being loyal to family and friends. Cliff is preceded in death by his father, Walter Mayfield Sr., his mother Mary (Wilson) Mayfield and brother Phillip Mayfield. His survivors include his brother Walter Mayfield Jr. of Stover, Mo., sister Kathy Miller of Mansfield, Ohio, brother Mark Mayfield of Independence, sister Lisa Ely of Independence, and brother John Mayfield of Lee's Summit, Mo. His survivors also include eight nieces and nephews. A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, July 15, 2023, at Elm Grove Elementary School, 18000 E. Kentucky Road, Independence beginning at 3 p.m. The family asks that in lieu of flowers that donations be made to Wayside Waifs or the Animal Shelter of your choice.
