GARY BLY Obituary

GARY MARSHALL BLY Gary Marshall Bly, 74, of Lone Jack, Mo., passed away peacefully on December 7, 2023, at his home surrounded by his family. He was born on November 14, 1949, in Independence, Mo., to Marshall and Geraldine Bly. He graduated from Van Horn High School in 1967, completed the IBEW Apprenticeship and became an inside wireman with Local 124. Gary was a Boy Scout and attained the rank of Eagle Scout and was part of the Mic-O-Say Tribe, an honor society of the Heart of America Council at the H. Roe Bartle Scout Reservation. He was also a Mason with the Independence Masonic Lodge No. 76 AM&FM. Gary was a loving father, brother, and friend. He had a great sense of humor, a generous spirit, and a kind heart. He spent many years living in Florida where he enjoyed the sun, laid back lifestyle and the ocean. Gary is survived by his brother Randy and his sisters, Janet Bedwell (Rick) and Linda Harris (Jerry); nieces, Loretta Harris and Christine Chewning and nephew Martin Harris; and many cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents and his son Brett Marshall Bly. A celebration of Gary's life will be held in the spring of 2024.
