Shirley L. Bly

Shirley L. Bly, age 88, of Lawrence Park, passed away peacefully at her home on Sunday, March 1, 2026. She was born in Meadville on May 10, 1937, daughter of the late Paul and Lillian Reeher.

Shirley was a 1955 graduate of Academy High School. She was a bookkeeper and secretary, last working at Sarah Reed Retirement Center. She had been affiliated with East Lake Road Alliance Church and was a member of the Mercy Hilltop Center, where she led a knitting class. Shirley was very gifted as a knitter and shared her skills with many people.

Shirley is survived by one daughter, Ellen Fichera (Trevor); three grandchildren, Aaron Bly, formerly with the US Marines, of New Bern NC; Mallory Fichera (Joe Vermeylan), based with the US Air Force in Anchorage, AK and Kelly Fichera of Erie; and nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene Bly; one son, Dale Bly; one sister, Joyce Sopp; and one brother, Robert Reeher.
