Mark Evans Obituary
Mark was born March 12, 1963, in San Jose, CA, the son of Bobby D. and Dorothy L. (Bausum) Evans. Mark served as a police officer and detective with the Independence Police Department for over 24 years. He was a member of the Independence Fraternal Order of Police. Mark enjoyed military memorabilia and history of WWI and WWII.
Survivors include: his son, Ryan Evans; daughter, Brittney Evans; granddaughter, Caitlynn Foresee; parents Bobby and Dorothy Evans; brother, Michael Evans; sisters, Jenny Dunham and Cindy Evans; four nieces and girlfriend Stefanie Shanks.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8:00 p.m.,Thursday evening, July 9, 2015 at the Speaks Suburban Chapel, 18020 E. 39th St., Independence, MO 64055. A Celebration of Mark's Life will be at 10:00 a.m., Friday, July 10, 2015 at the chapel. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery in Kearney, MO, with Police Funeral Honors.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his name to the KU Cancer Center or Heartland Honor Flight Inc.
