SHERRY EDDE Obituary

SHERRY SUE (WHITE) EDDE Sherry Sue (White) Edde was born on May 30, 1949, in Independence, Mo., to Robert Gene White and Rosemary (Smith) White. Sherry, the eldest of three children, was actively involved in Girl Scouts, Pep Club, and was a member of the RLDS church during her youth. She graduated from Truman High School in 1967 and earned an AA in fashion from Central Missouri State College in 1969. In 1970, Sherry married her high school sweetheart, Stanley Edde, and together lovingly raised two children. Throughout her career in the retail business, Sherry served as a buyer, visual merchandiser, and later, in human resources. A gifted decorator, Sherry had the opportunity to showcase her talents in many places her family called home - spanning Missouri, Kansas, and across Texas. El Paso held a special place in her heart, being the city she loved most. Her most recent residence was in San Jose, Calif., near her daughter and grandchildren. Sherry peacefully departed from this life on January 15, 2024. She was preceded in death by her mother, Rosemary White, her sister, Beverly White, and several aunts and uncles with whom she shared a close bond. Sherry is survived by her husband of 53 years, Stan Edde; son, Ryan (Amy Fessler) Edde; daughter, Ashley (Ryan) Carroll; three grandchildren, Amelia, Luke, and Birdie; her father, Robert White; brother, Dennis (Terry) White; and numerous nieces, nephews, and longtime friends. For those fortunate enough to have known Sherry, they will remember her approach to each day as an opportunity. A hard worker, eternal optimist, quick-witted, and possessing a wonderfully sarcastic sense of humor, Sherry, as the matriarch of the family, was a proud, loving, and supportive parent, grandparent, and spouse. The family takes solace in the enduring impact of her spirit which will continue to guide them through their journeys. A memorial service will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Friday, April 19, 2024, at Stone Church, Independence, with a luncheon to follow at Ophelia's on Independence Square. A private interment will take place at a later date in Mound Grove Cemetery. While a soul may not leave much that persists in this life, their good works live on through family and friends alike. Sherry was called home, where she resides in God's heavenly kingdom.

Gene and I are sending love and prayers to the Edde family at this difficult time. We had some great times together we will always remember! Many times in our much younger years for sure! Our Las Vegas reunion was definitely one to cherish!
