Daisy Mae Cornwell

March 14, 1934 - March 28, 2026

Daisy Mae Cornwell, 92 of Remington, VA passed away on March 28, 2026 at her home.

She was born on March 14, 1934 in Remington, a daughter of the late Harvey D. Mills and Nora Rector Mills. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John M. Cornwell whom she married on Feb. 3, 1957.

Daisy graduated in 1945 from Remington High School. She worked for the former Risdon's Paint and Hardware in Warrenton until her retirement and then worked in the clinic at Cedar-Lee Junior High School in Bealeton retiring from that position in January 1995. She was a lifelong member of Remington Baptist Church. Daisy will be remembered for her love of bluegrass music and playing bass with bluegrass music groups, as well as her love of animals, especially her cats.

She is survived by her nieces and nephews- Douglas (Paula) Taylor, Debbie (Alvin) Blankenship, Bonnie Frazier, Camilla (Fred) Messer, Mike (Susan) Moore, Kevin Moore and Michelle L. (Chris) Moncure; special friends, Jane Andes Clark, Charlie and Evelyn Elkins and Alice Early. Betty Sellner was another close friend who was like family and recently passed away.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, April 2 from 6-8 PM at Moser Funeral Home where funeral services will be held on Friday, April 3 at 10:30 AM. Interment will follow at Remington Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Fauquier SPCA or to Remington Baptist Church.
