Sophie Ann Kestner, 82 of Goldvein, VA passed away on April 30, 2025 at her home.
She was born on July 10, 1942 in Rappahannock County, VA a daughter of the late James Edward Newcomer and Sallie Lee Thorpe Newcomer. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Harold Curtis Kestner, Jr and her siblings, Roy Newcomer, Pauline Wright, John and Charles Newcomer.
Ann was a loving mother and grandmother and cherished her family. She will be remembered by her infectious smile and love of animals.
She is survived by her daughter, Michele Kestner (William) Hostetler and Greg (Karen) Kestner; her grandchildren, Bailey (Megan) Adams, Erika Cobert, Justin (Kim) Kestner and Alec (Julie) Kestner; her great grandchildren, Madilyn Adams, Hadley Sparrow, Brooke Kestner, Makayla Kestner, Logan Kestner and one on the way.
A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, May 14 at 11:00 AM at the Midland Cemetery.
In light of Ann's love for animals, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to the local SPCA of the donor.
