Starr Cathleen Miles

July 6, 1941 - May 1, 2025

On Thursday, May 1, 2025, Starr Cathleen Miles, loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother passed away at the age of 83. Starr was born on July 6, 1941, in Lynchburg, VA to Virginia Dunkley and Clarence Perrow. On June 18, 1960, she married the love of her life, Vernon Howard Miles, Sr., of Lynchburg, VA. She raised four boys practically by herself as Vernon Sr. was traveling and deployed with the US Air Force. She owned various florist shops in the Warrenton area. Starr consistently prioritized the health, welfare, and education of her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, actively participating in all aspects of their lives. Additionally, she was involved in Cub/Boy Scouts, successfully guiding her four sons to achieve Eagle Scout status. Starr dedicated time to various volunteer activities, including working with the Red Cross at the Vietnamese Refugee camp at Eglin Air Force Base in the mid-1970s, as well as supporting other charitable organizations in the Haymarket, Manassas, and Warrenton areas.

Starr was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Vernon Sr., her mother and father, and her sisters, Dorothy McGurie, Paulette Bailey and brother Frank Perrow. She is survived by her sister Mary Frances Floyd, four children; Vernon Jr, Timothy, David Sr, and Douglas, seven grandchildren; David Miles, Jr, Sarah Bailey, Vernon Miles III, Emily Miles, Cathleen Miles, Natalie Vineyard and Charlotte Miles, and four great grandchildren; Joanna, Miles, and Adam Bailey and Iris Dickson. A funeral service will be held on Friday, May 9, 2025 at Moser Funeral Home, 233 Broadview Ave. Warrenton, VA 20186 with visitation starting at 10:00 am and services beginning at 11:00 p.m. To be followed by burial services at the Culpeper National Cemetery, 501 E.
