Linda and family:

I haven't seen you or Joel in years but I remember you both very well. I had just seen pictures of you in the lafamac-1957. Growing up across the street from Joel and his family is one of the special memories of my childhood. I am glad for the happy life you've had together and sad that Joel is gone prematurely. My heart felt sympathy to you and your family.

Best Regards, Joel Dugan

Dear Linda,

Bonnie McAlister sent us the news of Joels death and we want to send our love and heartfelt condolences to you and your family.

John says that he always enjoyed being with Joel at Lamont House because the two of them were "men", not boys, and shared a service background. Longtime ago but part of the bank of memories to draw on.

Much love, Steph

I remember fondly our talks about fashion and design. As a young man he influenced me greatly as to my mindset about my own design flair. He always thought that I was " out there" with my double breasted, Douglas Fairbanks look! He once remarked to me, when that look became fashionable again. that I was ahead of my time! He also winked! To all of his family; smile a big smile, and always remember how much he loved you all! He cannot be replaced, and I for one will miss him dearly. He was a keeper! Most Faithfully, Johnny McLean.........

Joel was one of the finest men I have ever met. His life was part of the healing and repair of the world through his love for Linda, Craig and Adam, their families, his community and state. We will miss him dearly, but are comforted in knowing that he lived well and died well. I pray that the Fleishman family knows how much we all love you.

I met Joel when I first moved to Greensboro in '83. Despite our age difference he was so kind to me and I had a great feeling about coming to this city. Since that time he continued to be a true gentleman to me and hence a friend. I hope you, Linda, and your sons will think of all the wonderful memories and that the hole left in your heart begins to heal.
Sincerely, Neil Lutins

My deepest sympathies to Joel's family. I first met Joel when I was in my very early twenties in Fayetteville. I lived and worked in Fayetteville for a short time. Joel sold me clothes there. My brother lives in Greensboro and reintroduced me to Joel many years ago when I visited. I will never forget his quick wit and incredible memory for things. He should have had his own TV talk show, it would have been a hit.

May GOD rest his soul! and Peace and long life to his wife, children, grandchildren and extended family.

Joel Fleishman was a man of impeccable character and charm. He always greeted everyone positively in a way that uplifted your day. And he had style when it came to clothing so when you met up with Joel, I always felt better and with his tremendous knowledge of apparel, he made his customers look better too. I will miss our conversations more than words can express. Joel Fleishman made his mark in our world and quite literally with about everyone he ever met. God bless him and the memory of his smiling personality.
