Master Jacops Obituary
Jeffrey Miles Jacops
Hope Mills —Master Sergeant Jeffrey "Jeff" Miles Jacops, 40, died on November 3, 2018. He was a veteran of Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation Enduring Freedom Afghanistan and was awarded the Purple Heart.
MSG. Jacops was born on January 11, 1978 in Amarillo, Texas. After graduating from Palo Duro High School in 1996, he enlisted in the United States Army. He was assigned to 14 Cav in Schweinfurt, Germany. His current assignment was to the Security Force Assistance Command at Fort Bragg, North Carolina.
He was a brave and loyal solider receiving the Bronze Star (2 oak leaf clusters), Meritorious Service Medal (2 oak leaf clusters), Commendation Medal with Valor, Combat Action Medal and the Armor Draper Leadership Award.
He is survived by his wife of 22 years, Christina, son Jerrett, daughter Chassie all of the home; parents Kathy and Wesley Jacops and sister Elizabeth Jacops all of New Boston, Texas and brother Dustin Jacops and wife Jeanie of Dekalb, Texas.
A memorial service to celebrate his life will be held on Thursday, November 15 at 7:00 p.m. at CrossPointe Church with Pastor Tracy Pounders officiating. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 6:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, November 20 in Amarillo, Texas. MSG. Jacops will be buried at Arlington National Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to CrossPointe Church.

Jacops, man my heart is hurting brother. I'll always remember the laughs and especially that time in Iraq when your crew and my B-Fist crew had to go out on a patrol. Man I never laughed that hard in my life laughing at you brother. Damn man, it's like a dream when I heard you were gone. Man i'll miss the hell out of you, but I know we will see each other again. R.I.P brother.
