Michael Richard Neuenschwander, 35, of Fayette passed away suddenly Wednesday, Aug. 19, 2015, as a result of injuries sustained in an automobile accident. He was born in Wauseon on Feb. 19, 1980, to Sue (Patrick) Irving and Rick (Kris) Neuenschwander, who survive.
Michael was a 1998 graduate of Wauseon High School. He was a veteran, having served in the U.S. Army. He was an owner and operator of Heritage Construction for many years, and most recently worked for Energy Group, performing tree maintenance and trimming around power lines. He was also a member of IBEW Union Local 17 in Detroit, Mich. He greatly enjoyed deer hunting, watersports, and especially spending time with his children, family, and friends. He will always be remembered as a true family man and a great father.
He is also survived by three children, Mitchell, Samantha, and Mason; five siblings, Robert Neuenschwander, Tylor (Jennifer) Neuenschwander, Joshua (Estela) Snipes, Nicholas (Candace) Irving, and Jessica (Jason Pace) Irving; his fiancé, Paige Guess; grandparents, Lowell and Velma Neuenschwander, Ruth Reinhart, Ruth Knierim, and Phyllis Irving; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his grandfathers, Robert Reinhart, William Knierim, Charles Irving Sr.
A funeral service celebrating Mike's life will be held 11 a.m. Monday, Aug. 24, 2015, at Shiloh Christian Union Church, 2100 County Road 5, in Delta, with Pastors Tom Ordway and Jeff Davis officiating. Private interment will precede the service at Shiloh Cemetery, with military rites being provided by the Fulton County Honor Guard.
Friends may visit 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 23, 2015, at Barnes Funeral Chapel in Delta.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions be considered to the Michael Neuenschwander Memorial Fund for the future care of his children. Donations can be made at any local State Bank branch.
