Hope Eigenbrodt

Lake deNeveu and Fond du Lac - Hope Margory Riese Eigenbrodt, age 99, passed away on Thursday, May 17, 2018. Hope was born March 16, 1919 in Oshkosh, Wisconsin. She is the daughter of Hugo and Lucy (Kilbey) Riese of Oshkosh, Wisconsin. She married Richard Eigenbrodt, on September 29, 1942, at St. John's Lutheran Church, Oshkosh, Wisconsin. He preceded her in death October 6, 1990.

Hope worked for Cutco Cutlery for 12 years as a Field Counselor, earning 4 National Contests. Later she worked for 20 years for Sears Roebuck.

She loved gardening and was well know at Lake deNeveu for her beautiful iris display. She raised orchids and at one time had up to 70 in her living room. In her later years Hope loved crafts: stained glass, crocheting, and painting gourds.

Hope is survived by her four children, daughters, Candace Africa (Frank) of Vancouver WA, Rev. Gail Mitchell of Batavia WI, son, Thomas Eigenbrodt (Beverly) of Fond du Lac, and daughter, Jacqueline Felder of Green Bay WI; 6 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Preceding her in death are two brothers, Hugo Jr. Riese and Kenneth Riese; three sisters, Dorothy Schwartz, Jeanette Barsch, and Grace Riese.

Hope is a member of Church of Our Savior's Lutheran Church of Fond du lac. Funeral services will be held on Sunday, May 27 at 2:00 pm. At Church of Our Savior Lutheran Church, 363 South Main Street, Fond du Lac, WI 54935. The Rev. Matthew Agee will officiate. Visitation will be Sunday, May 27 at church from 12:30 pm. until the time of the service. Private burial will take place at a later date.
