James McCauley Obituary

McCauley Jr., James A. "Mack"

James A. "Mack" McCauley, Jr., 72, passed away suddenly at St. Agnes Hospital in Fond du Lac on Thursday, December 10, 2015. Shortly after his death, Jim was surrounded by many immediate family members. He was born in Fond du Lac on June 16, 1943, a son of James and Pearl (Alexander) McCauley Sr. He graduated from high school in Lomira and then attended UW-Oshkosh, studying music. On April 14, 1992 Jim married Bonnie (Knopik) DeMille.

Jim will be remembered as having a passion for fishing, a love for the Green Bay Packers, his overnight "bus runs", bowling and for helping others. His sense of humor and laugh were contagious; no microphone needed! For many years, he played softball as a pitcher. Jim was a faithful member of Redeemer Lutheran Church of Fond du Lac. An elder for 2 terms, Jim also ushered and sang in the church choir. He retired from Mercury Marine as a Supervisor.

Jim is survived by his wife Bonnie and a combined family of 5 children; Brian & Kevin McCauley, John DeMille, Michelle (Brian) Donnelly and Julie (Dave) Braun; 6 grandchildren, Natasha Gallant, Dylan McCauley, Michael and Bryce Donnelly and McKenzie and Kendal Braun; 1 great-granddaughter, Savannah Sheldon-Donnelly; 4 siblings, Judy (Richard) Priebe, Lee, David and Dale; relatives of Evelyn and many nieces, nephews and close friends.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Evelyn McCauley; his parents, James, Sr. and Pearl Hope; a grandson, Hunter Donnelly; and his daughter-in-law, Siriwan "Ae" McCauley.

Visitation for Jim will be held Thursday, December 17, 2015 from 4PM - 7PM at Uecker-Witt Funeral Home in Fond du Lac and again on Friday, December 18, 2015 at Redeemer Lutheran Church of Fond du Lac from 10AM until the time of service. Funeral service will begin at 11AM with Pastor James Borgwardt officiating. Private family burial will take place later in the day at Bluffton Cemetery, Town of Brooklyn, Green Lake County.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to Redeemer Lutheran Church are appreciated.
