Wendorff, Lucille Fanny Daisy

Lucille Fanny Daisy Wendorff, 89 years old, of Mayville, Wis., passed away on Monday, July 18, 2011, at the Hospice Home of Hope in Fond du Lac, Wis.

SERVICES: A funeral service will be held on Friday, July 22, at 11 a.m. at St. John Ev. Lutheran Church in Mayville, with the Rev. James Mallmann and the Rev. Matthew Shive officiating.

VISITATION: A visitation will be held on Friday, July 22, from 9 to 11 a.m. at the church.

Interment will take place at St. John Cemetery in Mayville.

Lucille was born on Aug. 16, 1921 in Rubicon, Wis., to Herman and Leona (Polster) Margelofsky.

She was united in marriage to Earl A. Wendorff on March 7, 1943, in Mayville, at St. John Ev. Lutheran Church; the couple enjoyed 67 wonderful years together.

Lucille worked at Ryser Cheese and also helped farm with her husband Earl.

Lucille was a longtime member at St. John Ev. Lutheran Church in Mayville where she volunteered at the church and school as a member of the Ladies Aid, the Dorcas Society, and the Altar Guild. Lucille was also confirmed at St. John Ev. Lutheran Church on May 19, 1935, by Pastor Stoehr.

She enjoyed playing Sheepshead. Lucille also liked to square dance with her husband Earl. She also loved to spend time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Lucille is survived by her children, Ken (Jo) Wendorff of Fond du Lac, Carol (Dennis) Burrows of Delavan, and Tammy (Dan) Jommen of West Bend; two sisters, Evelyn Horst of Hartford and Erna Leigl of Horicon; a sister in law, Verda Margelofsky of Mayville; her grandchildren: Leslie (Yaw) Asare, Lynnan Osawa, William (Kelly) Wendorff, Nathan Burrows, Melissa Burrows, and Jackson Jommen; her great-grandchildren: Alexis, Olivia, and Isabella Asare, Ayano and Erena Osawa, Hadley, Eleanor, and Raymond Huckleberry Wendorff; she is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Lucille was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Earl in 2010; her granddaughter, Laurie; two brothers, Elmer and Wilbert Margelofsky; two brothers- in-law, Alex Leigl and Eddie Horst; one sister-in-law, Verona Margelofsky.

Memorials may be directed to St. John Ev. Lutheran Church in Mayville.
