Marlene A. Pinkert

Fond du Lac - Marlene A. Pinkert, 85, of Fond du Lac, passed away on Wednesday, February 24, 2021, at St. Agnes Hospital.

She was born on August 10, 1935, in Fond du Lac, the daughter of Paul J. and Anna P. Bahr Kleinschmidt. She was a graduate of Fond du Lac High School, Class of 1953, and attended UW Fond du Lac campus. On June 12, 1954, she married Ronald C. Pinkert at St. Peter's Ev. Lutheran Church, with Rev. Gerhard Pieper officiating. She was a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church.

Marlene was Evans School PTC Program Chairman, former Sunday School Teacher at Redeemer Lutheran Church, and a past member of Redeemer's Ladies Society. She worked at Wieman's Dime Store, Fond du Lac County Abstract Company and retired in 1998 from the Fond du Lac School System after working 32 years at Chegwin Elementary School. She was a friend to the children and enjoyed decorating her desk for special occasions. After retiring, she volunteered at Chegwin and Riverside Elementary School. Marlene was an avid reader, loved to do needlepoint, crochet and knit items for relatives and friends.

She is survived by her loving husband, of 66 years, Ron Pinkert of Fond du Lac, her children: Cindy (Ron) Hills of Wild Rose, WI and Jay Pinkert of Austin, TX; her grandchildren: Carrie (Eric) Anderson of Wild Rose, WI and Jackson Edward-Todd of Austin, TX; two great-grandchildren: William and Ember Anderson; her brother David (Elsie) Kleinschmidt of LadyLake, FL, her brother-in-law Dale Pinkert of N. Fond du Lac, her sister-in-law Mary Lou (Bob) England of Shawano, and many nieces, nephews and close friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her father and mother-in-law Clarence and Ruzella Hintz Pinkert, her brothers: Donald, Kenneth and Bruce Kleinschmidt, her nephew and a sister-in-law.

VISITATION: Friends may call on Monday, March 1, 2021 from 12:30 - 1:30 PM at Redeemer Lutheran Church, 606 Forest Avenue, Fond du Lac. Per the government orders, masks are required for those in attendance.

SERVICE: Funeral services will be held at 1:30 PM on Monday, March 1, 2021, with Rev. James Borgwardt officiating. Cremation will follow the traditional services.

Memorials in Marlene's name may be directed to Redeemer Youth Program, 606 Forest Avenue, Fond du Lac, WI 54935.
