Ruth Lichtenwald Obituary
Fond du Lac - Ruth I. (Langlois) Lichtenwald, 95, of Fond du Lac, died on Saturday, June 12, 2021, at St. Francis Home. She was born on April 12, 1926, in Fond du Lac, the daughter of George and Marie (Marcoe) Langlois. On April 26, 1947, she married Reuben Lichtenwald in Fond du Lac. She spent the majority of her working career at Sears and working her way up to office manager. Ruth was a member of St. Patrick's Church, Fond du Lac, where she was involved with The Altar and Rosary Society and other church activities. Ruth led a Christian life and was involved with the Pro-Life movement. She was very social and involved with various clubs, especially her Bridge Club. She loved to vacation and will be known for her great cooking skills and having wonderful spreads at all the holiday events.
She is survived by her three sons, Jeffrey, Jerry (Jean), and Jim (Nancy) Lichtenwald; a sister-in-law, Pat Langlois; and many nieces, nephews, and other relatives. She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Marie; husband, Reuben; four sisters; and four brothers.
The visitation will be held from 12:00 - 1:00 PM on Tuesday, June 22, 2021 at Holy Family Church, 271 Fourth Street Way, Fond du Lac, WI 54937. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at the church at 1:00 PM with entombment to follow at Shrine of Rest Mausoleum, Ledgeview Cemetery.
The family would like to thank the staff at the St. Francis Home for the care and compassion shown to her over the last five years.
She will be missed by all who loved and knew her.
