Stephen R. Paulick

Stephen R. Paulick, 70, of River Falls, Wis., passed away following a lengthy illness, Saturday, January 23, 2021.

Stephen was born September 28, 1950 in Green Bay, Wis. To Ralph and Kathryn "Dolly" (Zellner) Paulick. Stephen was the eldest of six children.

After spending his earliest years in Green Bay, his parents moved to Fond du Lac. He graduated high school from St. Mary's Springs Academy.

After high school, he attended the University of Wisonsin - Oshkosh, where he graduated with a degree in Secondary Education. Upon his graduation, he was commissioned as an officer in the United States Army. He also attended Idaho State Univeristy - Pocatello, Idaho, where he graduated with a degree in Pharmacy.

He married Barbara J. LaPine in May, 1979 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Fond du Lac. They later moved the family to River Falls, Wis. Stephen was stationed at Norfolk, Virginia. He later worked at Ft. Snelling, Minn. & Ft. McCoy, Wis. Stephen spent most of his working career as an employee of the Federal Government, working primarily as a Budget Analyst for the 88th Regional Support Command. He retired from the active Army with the rank of Lieutenant Colonel, but he continued on as a civilian employee of the Army Reserve for a total of 36 years of service.

Survivors include his wife, Barbara; two daughters, Rachael and Valerie; three sons, Andrew, Michael and Christopher and their respective spouses; his mother; 4 brothers, Gregory, Bruce, Patrick & Thomas; and a sister, Therese.

He also leaves behind 8 grandchildren, with another due in the spring, as well as members of the extended family. He leaves behind his beloved John Deere tractor, his Ford F150 and all the acres of trees the family planted together.

Stephen had a great devotion to the Bl. Mother Mary. He was kind and compassionate - always trying to help someone.

He was preceded in death by his father, father-in-law and an infant daughter.

Military honors will be provided by the River Falls Fletcher-Pechacek American Legion - Post 1221.
