Bobbie Schmidt, 80, of Fergus Falls, passed away December 23, 2024, at St. Williams' Living Center in Parkers Prairie, Minnesota. Her memorial service is set for 2 p.m. on Saturday, January 18, 2025, at Hilltop Celebration Church in Fergus Falls, MN. There will be a visitation one hour prior. There will be a private family burial in the spring.
Bobbie Nell Schmidt was born on December 27, 1943, in San Antonio, Texas, to Robert and Rose Bernell (Patton) Abbott. She was confirmed at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Fergus Falls. She lived in and attended school in Fredericksburg, Texas, and in Friberg Township in Fergus Falls, Minnesota.
Throughout her life she was employed as a waitress, housekeeper, and in childcare. She enjoyed doing crafts, journaling, going out to eat, being with family, and going to church. Bobbie especially loved having pie, coffee, and her Pepsi. She believed you didn't need a lot to be happy- all you needed was a good cup of coffee.
One of Bobbie's favorite past times was playing BINGO. When her family would come to visit and it was during BINGO, they would patiently wait until it was over to see her. Out of all the times she played BINGO at the living center, she finally got her "blackout" about a week before her passing, and she was so excited the whole facility knew.
Bobbie is survived by her children, Wendy (Lynn) Harlow, Holly Schmidt, James Schmidt, Glenda (Joe) Dillard; grandchildren, Lora (Ben) Marfell, Jessica Schmidt (Charles Jensen), Jason Schmidt, Julia (Brett) Weiss, Jacob Hoff; great-grandchildren, Abigail (Jacob) Wolter, Emma (Cole) Mahler, Raylynn Weiss, August Weiss, Jackson Weiss; and a sister-in-law, Mary Ann Abbott.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Jr Abbott; granddaughter, Leasha Hoff; and an infant son.
