Val Sudbrock Obituary

Val W. Sudbrock, 93 of Mexico died Thursday, April 13, 2017 at the SSM St. Mary's Audrain Hospital in Mexico.
Graveside services with full military honors will be held 2:00 PM Saturday at East Lawn Memorial Park in Mexico. Visitation will be held from 1:00 – 1:45 PM Saturday at Arnold Funeral Home in Mexico.
Mr. Sudbrock was born on February 13, 1924 in St. Charles, the son of Beecher Ward and Rosalee (Johnson) Sudbrock. He attended Francis Howell High School in St. Charles County.
In April, 1945, he entered the United States Army, and served in the Occupation Army in Japan, and the Military Police, Quartermaster, and Technical Intelligence Units.
He married Bettie Lu Crass on February 22, 1952, and she preceded him in death on May 29, 1994.
Mr. Sudbrock was a retired farmer. He is remembered by his family as a very generous and kind man. "Uncle Val" was a special member of the Sudbrock family. He enjoyed hunting, and fishing, but his favorite pastime was visiting with family and friends at his "ranch". It was a favorite spot for anyone to stop by for coffee and a great conversation.
He is survived by two brothers, who reside in Mexico, John Sudbrock and wife Jerre Ann; Marzell and wife Anna Mae; one sister, Maxine Woods of Mexico, and several nieces, nephews, and extended family.
In addition to his wife Bettie, Val was preceded in death by his parents, and four brothers, Delbert, Forrest, Boynton, and Jerry Sudbrock.
Memorial donations are suggested to the American Red Cross, or the SSM St. Mary's Hospital Audrain Auxiliary in care of Arnold Funeral Home, 425 S. Jefferson Mexico, MO 65265.
