LEOMINSTER -- Christopher K. Kelly, 42, of Leominster, died unexpectedly on Monday, November 20, 2017, at Leominster Hospital.

Christopher was born in Fitchburg, MA, on December 3, 1974, the son of John M. and Sigrid Kelly. He was a 1993 graduate of Leominster High School, where he played both baseball and football. Christopher continued his education at Pensacola Junior College in Pensacola, Florida, where he also played baseball. He transferred to Fort Lewis College in Durango, Colorado, where he received a bachelors degree in psychology. While a student at Fort Lewis, Christopher traveled to Thailand and Nepal and with the assistance of a Sherpa, journeyed to Mt. Everest.

Christopher was the Behavioral Health Care Coordinator for the CHART PROGRAM, at Health Alliance Hospital in Leominster, at the time of his death. Prior to working at Health Alliance Hospital, Christopher was employed by HCRS as a mental health crisis screener - his services covered the entire state of Vermont. Before working for HCRS, he was the Residential Program Coordinator at Meadowview Recovery in Brattleboro, VT.

Christopher is survived by his parents John M. and Sigrid Kelly of Leominster; his long-time companion Karen Tedd and their three beautiful children: McKayla, Ava Marie and Andrew. Christopher is also survived by his son Tyler from a previous relationship. Christopher leaves his brother John M. Kelly Jr. and his wife Cherie of Leominster; his sister Amy Kelly also of Leominster and his paternal grandmother Christine Kelly in Peterborough, NH. He is survived by many nieces and nephews, uncles, aunts and cousins, as well as by a multitude of friends.

Christopher was always most comfortable surrounded by nature, especially the mountains and he shared that affinity with his family. He loved hiking with his children and spending time with them at the beach in Maine. Christopher was an avid New England sports enthusiast: he played for the Leominster Dodgers on the Central Mass. Over 40 Baseball League this past summer with his brother John. His fondest childhood memories were of time spent with his grandparents at Frog Haven in Dublin, NH. and of playing golf with his paternal grandfather Ed Kelly. Christopher was a devoted father who loved and cherished his family above all else. He was a warm and giving man who will be deeply missed by everyone who knew and loved him.

KELLY -- Calling hours will be held at Brandon Funeral Home, 305 Wanoosnoc Rd., Fitchburg, on Thursday, November 30, from 4:00 to 7:00 pm.

Christopher's funeral will be celebrated at Christ Episcopal Church, 569 Main St., Fitchburg on Friday, December 1, at 10:00 am.

Burial will be private.
