Darrell Maulding Obituary

Darrell E. Maulding avid hunter and fisherman; 65 Fitchburg Darrell E. Maulding, 65, died Friday, May 23, 2008 in University of Massachusetts Medical Center in Worcester. Mr. Maulding was born April 28, 1943 in Parma, Missouri, the son of the late William W. Wing and Alma Maulding. He graduated from Grey Ridge High School in Missouri in 1960 where he played baseball and basketball. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving in Vietnam and the National Guard and received a purple heart. He was employed as a field service technician for Digital in Worcester. Previously, he worked as the manager of food service at Hillcrest Nursing Home. He was a member of the American Legion Post 429, the New Ipswich, NH Athletic Association, Shirley Rod and Gun Club. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. He was also a Red Sox, Patriots and St. Louis Cardinals fan. He leaves his wife of 36 years, Sandra M. (Forgues) Maulding; three daughters, Deanna J. Maulding and her companion, Samuel Serrano of Fitchburg, Barbara J. Assimakopoulos and her husband, John, of Fitchburg and Therese Solwold of Rochester Hills, MI; four grandchildren, Celine R. Martinez of Fitchburg, Antonio J. Serrano of Fitchburg, Kayla E. Crank of Fitchhburg and Taylor Solwold of Rochester Hill, MI; two stepbrothers, Ronald Wing and Robert Wing both of Rochester Hills, MI; two aunts, Doris Brinson of O'Fallon, IL and Deloris Gromer of Rochester Hills, MI; two sisters in law, Barbara Barrett and Lillian Lowe both of Fitchburg; several nieces and nephews and many, many friends. MAULDING The funeral will be held Friday, May 30 at 10 am in Brandon Funeral Home, 305 Wanoosnoc Rd. Burial will be in Forest Hill Cemetery. Calling hours are Thursday, May 29 from 5-7 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to American Heart Association, 20 Speen St., Framingham, MA 01701.
