Charles Magruder Obituary

CHARLES MAGRUDER MELBOURNE Charles Emerson Magruder, age 81, of Melbourne, Florida expired at 7:25 a.m., Monday, November 13, 2006, at William Childs Hospice House, Palm Bay, FL. A native of Zanesville, Ohio, he served for the Florida Baptist Convention as a church planter consultant until his retirement. A Director of Missions in New York and Ohio, he also was a pastor in Ohio, Louisiana and Florida. He served in the U.S.Marine Corps during World War II. His first wife, Eva, pre ceded him in death in 1979. He is survived by his wife, Clotilde Magruder of Mel bourne; two sons, Gregory of Gainesville, FL and David of Columbus, OH; a daughter, Joyce of Alpine, CA; seven grandchildren; a sister, Lois Elliott of McConnelsville, OH and a niece and nephew. A memorial service will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Thurs day, November 16th, at Eau Gallie First Baptist Church, where he was a member. Interment will be held at For est Lawn Memorial Gardens, Columbus, OH. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made in the name Charles E. Magruder to The Baptist Foundation of the State Convention of Bap tists in Ohio, 1680 E. Broad Street, Columbus, OH 43203. Condolences may be sent to: www.beachfuneralho me.com

It was a privilege to have served the Lord in central Ohio the years that Bro. Chuck worked with us. I have fond memories of him, that lovely smile he always had, the great sermons and wonderful sense of humor. He was a faithful Christian man; one I shall always remember. Please accept my most sincere condolences on his passing and I know that he is rejoicing now and forever in the presence of the Lord he loved and served.
