Joel Brown Obituary

Joel E. Brown

Cocoa Beach, FL

Joel E. Brown, born to Alfred and Olive J. Brown in Sedan, KS on January 12, 1922, passed away November 21, 2014.  He was predeceased by his wife of 60 years, Teddy Brown.

Joel boarded a Lexington CV-16 in 1944 in Hawaii as an Aircraft Maintenance Engineer and took it into Tokyo for the signing of surrender.

He received a MS from Michigan and joined McDonald  Douglas with the aircraft division and DC-3 in Santa Monica. He moved to Cocoa Beach in 1954 to work in the Rocket industry, eventually working on the Shuttle Tail, all the time building his own Brown & Sons Construction Company with his three sons, Joel, Gary, and Bill with four grandchildren Joel III, Kylie, and twins, Danielle and William.  He always had a boat, even as a kid, growing up in Miami and he enjoyed taking his family boating and fishing in Cocoa Beach and CA.

A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Wednesday, November 25th at Beckman-Williamson Funeral Home, Cocoa Beach.  You may sign his guestbook at beckman-williamson.com
