Aunt Charlene,
I could write a book about Uncle Dick as he was my Dad's best buddy and I have known him forever. He will always be my favorite Uncle. I finally saw the memorial service on my computer the other night and it was beautiful, every word spoken was so true. You my Aunt made his life finally complete. I knew the moment I saw the two of you together that my Uncle found his best friend and the perfect lady to spend the rest of his life with!!! As you can see age and time have no limits, so God gave both of you many wonderful years together, but it's never enough is it???? My Dad told me so many wonderful stories about Uncle Dick and like Uncle, I would often see tears running down his face as Dad shared so many stories about their lives. Being a daughter, I didn't get to hear very much about the war until my Dad became ill. It was then that I finally started to hear the many things that happened so very long ago. You are the Angel that God above sent to Uncle and I know for sure every day he spent with you he enjoyed beyond words. You are in my prayers as I know the feeling of losing half of yourself and your best friend in life. Your Richard took his final flight to Heaven with class as he always did everything in his life. He was in every way a true American which is why he was a Captain for American Airlines. He has in some ways added to the meaning of what a true gentleman is suppose to be. I know Uncle is up there in Heaven with my Matthew and my Dad and they are all watching over us. I still can't believe they are gone and all we can do is wonder why they had to go too soon! So with all my heart and soul I will miss you my Uncle. In every way you showed me love and respect during my entire life and you shall be forever missed by the many lives you touched, especially your beautiful wife with the golden heart like you had. I am so proud to have been able to have you for my Uncle. May May God and his Angels watch over you Aunt Charlene and know I'm here for you always. I know my Matt loved Uncle so much too. How blessed we all were to have had him in our lives! With all my love and prayers, Tanya

You are missed Uncle Dick! Thank you for everything you have done for me in my life. My most special memory is when you got to stand up next to me and commission me as an Officer in the Army, in place of Grandpa Gorman! I sent the picture with Mom and Dad! I know you were so proud and are still looking down upon me! Having a toast to you later!!! I love you, Patti
