Ronald Bocinsky Obituary

Ronald V. Bocinsky, Sr.

Melbourne Beach, FL

Ronald Valentine Bocinsky, Sr. died unexpectedly on June 6, 2015 in Melbourne, Florida at the age of 83.

Ron is survived by his wife, Virginia Marie Bocinsky, nee Nolan; children, Deborah Gaul, Ronald V. Bocinsky, Jr., Mark Bocinsky, John Bocinsky, Mary Bolger, and Barbara Cavazos; 22 grandchildren; and 7 great-grandchildren.

Ron was born to James Peter Bocinsky and Beatrice Janik Bocinsky on February 9, 1932 in Oak Park, Illinois. He enlisted in the U.S. Air Force on October 17, 1950. Ron served as a radar mechanic in the Korean War where he earned the Korean Service Medal, U.N. Service Medal, National Defense Service Medal, and the Good Conduct Medal. After serving his country, Ron attended and graduated from Elgin Watchmaker's College, and began working for a jewelry store in LaGrange, Illinois. Shortly after, he met and married Virginia Nolan, a nursing student. Over the next 15 years, the couple welcomed six children into their home. His children remember him as a loving father who encouraged them to pursue their goals.

Sensing the waning need for watch repair, Ron went back to school and became a dental technician. Ron worked in a lab for 8 years before establishing his own. In 1977, Ron relocated his family to Florida, where he also owned a dental lab. He spent the last ten years before retirement working for Brevard County Waste Management.

In retirement, Ron was a devoted grandfather and avid gardener, and loved to tell a good joke. He was an active member and usher at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. Ron also volunteered with the Meals on Wheels program in Melbourne, Florida.

A memorial Mass is scheduled for Friday, June 12 at 10:30 am at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Melbourne Beach. All are welcome to attend and to celebrate Ron's life. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to Aging Matters (Meals on Wheels) at http://agingmattersbrevard.org.
