Melbourne, FL
Deviese, Russell D. Major Ret USAF, age 88 passed away Thursday, January 23, 2014 after a lengthy illness.
He was born in Wellsburg, WV and attended the University of Florida. He fulfilled his life passion when he became a pilot and not only flew numerous types of airplanes, but also was a flight instructor during his military career. During his 20 years in the military serving in WWII and Korean War, he and his family lived in several foreign countries after which he and the family moved to Melbourne, Florida where he worked for Harris Corporation until he retired.
He is survived by his wife of 68 years Maryland "Stevie" Deviese and his sister, Doris Jones of Pittsburgh, PA. He is also survived by his three children, Steven (Lorene) Apopka, FL, Susan Underwood (Bob) Largo, FL, and Penny Perkins (Pete) Lincoln, CA, four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
A private family Memorial Service was held at First United Methodist Church.
