Brent Champlin Obituary

MESA, ARIZONA - Brent Ralph Champlin, 60, of Mesa, Arizona, formally of Penn Yan, died unexpectedly Friday (July 1, 2011) in Mesa, Arizona.
A Service of Remembrance will be held on Wednesday (July 20, 2011) at the Penn Yan Moose Lodge at 7:00 p.m. Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family in Lakeview Cemetery, Penn Yan.
Memorials in Brent's name may be made to a charity of one's choice.
Brent was born November 7, 1950, in Penn Yan, the son of the late Ralph and Vera (Christiansen) Champlin. He was a 1968 graduate of Penn Yan Academy and served his country in the United States Marine Corps from August 1969 until August 1971. Brent worked for Penn Yan Aero as an airplane mechanic prior to moving to Arizona in 1979. He then worked for Sun State Mechanics in Mesa until his retirement in December 2010. Brent married Kim Northrup of Penn Yan in January,1982 in Mesa where they lived until his death.
Brent is survived by his wife, Kim, and their two dogs, Molly and Maxie of Mesa, Arizona. He is survived by his siblings Elaine (Earle) Gleason; Mary Ann Champlin; and Robert Champlin, all of Penn Yan. He is also survived by his mother-in-law, Althea Spears and father-in-law Harold Northrup; sisters-in-law Cindy (Chuck) Champlin and Karen (Al) Petersen, also all of Penn Yan. In addition, Brent is survived by 11 nieces and nephews; and many aunts, uncles and cousins. He also leaves his dear friends Vic and Marge Pickett of Mesa, Arizona.
Brent was predeceased by his parents, Ralph and Vera Champlin; Grandparents Paul and Agnes Christiansen and Grandmother Eleanor Champlin Scism; and also by several aunts, uncles, cousins and brother-in-law, Dale Northrup.
