Carl Olson Obituary
Private Funeral Services will be held at the convenience of the family, but please join them for a Celebration of his life, from 1 to 4 p.m. on Saturday (September 10, 2016) at the Climbing Bines Pavilion, 511 Hanson Point Rd., Penn Yan, N.Y.
Those wishing to remember Carl, please consider memorial contributions to the Humane Society of Yates County, 1216 NY-14A, Penn Yan, NY 14527, in his memory.
Carl was born on April 26, 1941, in Elmira, N.Y., the son of the late Carl J. Sr. and Dorothy Hayes Olson. He was a graduate of Southside High School in 1959 and Alfred State in 1961. Carl was a Lifetime Gold Member of Ducks Unlimited, Seneca Lake Duck Hunters Club Member, Moose Member, an Eagle Scout, coached the 1980 HHDS Babe Ruth Baseball 13-year-old N.Y.S Champions, YMCA Youth Basketball, Youth Football and Cinderella Princess Softball teams. Carl enjoyed spending time with his family and pets. He also enjoyed a good game of euchre, his grandchildren's sporting events, the NY Yankees, duck and goose hunting.
He is survived by his best friend and caregiver, Shirley Olson, of Penn Yan, N.Y.; children Richard Olson of Elmira, N.Y., Michael (Sharon) Olson of Horseheads, N.Y., Kerry Harter of Horseheads, N.Y. and Suzanne (Bart) Piersimoni, of Elmira, N.Y.; grandchildren Derek Olson, Michael Olson, Matthew Olson, Brandon Olson, Kendall Harter, Kasey Harter, Zachariah Bourgeois, Emily Piersimoni, Ryan Piersimoni, and Brianna Piersimoni; great-grandchildren Adelia, Duke, Kaiyden and Emma; special friends Scott Dewey, Kathy and Terry Donahue, Sue and Jim Getgen.
Special thanks to the Falck Cancer Center, Sands Cancer Center, Wilmot Cancer Institute, Dr. Kleiner and staff, Ontario-Yates Hospice and Lifetime Care.

Word can not express my sorrow and deep since of loss. I have known Carl since before we were in kindergarden. He lived at 815 Cider Street and I on 815 Spruce Street in Elmira. We always spoke on our birthdays since they were just days apart. I will miss him so much but will look back on him with loving memory.
