Donald Sabin Obituary
Friends are invited to attend a celebration of Don's life to be held on Sunday (February 24) from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Phelps American Legion, 1346 State Rt. 96 in Phelps. Burial will be in Resthaven Cemetery in the spring.
It is requested that in lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the House of John, 14 Spring Street, Clifton Springs NY 14432.
Don was born on May 30, 1929 in Clifton Springs, N.Y., the son of the late Leonard and Lena Jones Sabin. He was a member of the United Church of Phelps. Don and his wife Alice were the 1st couple to be married by Rev. Dayton. He was a member of the Phelps Historical Society. Don volunteered at the Geneva Presbytery, Phelps Arts Center and the Phelps Community Center. Don was a Master Mason and belonged to Garoga Sincerity Masonic Lodge #200 F&AM.
Don is survived by his loving wife, Alice Sabin of Phelps; children Stephen (Christine) Sabin of Phelps, Linda (Mark) Leight of Phelps, John (Mickey) Sabin of Waterloo; two sisters Jean Edwards and Barbara Gillespie; sister-in-law, Delores (Paul) Potter; five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his sister, Betty Fortner
Funeral arrangements have been made with the Cheney Funeral Home 70 Main Street Phelps.
