Doris Strong Obituary
A graveside service celebrating her life will be held at the Branchport Cemetery in Branchport, N.Y., at 11 a.m. on Saturday (October 22).
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to United Methodist Church Memorial Fund, PO Box 299, Penn Yan, NY 14527 or to the American Legion Auxiliary, c/o Charlotte Ridley, 110 Chapel St., Apt. 303, Penn Yan, NY 14527.
Doris was born in Penn Yan, N.Y., on October 8th, 1920, the daughter of the late, Ivan J. and Edna E. (Wheeler) Milliman. Doris married Forrest M. Dinehart on April 18, 1942. Mr. Dinehart passed away on June 20, 1977. She married Paul K. Strong on October 3rd, 1992, who passed away on October 26th, 1997. Doris had worked for Michaels-Stern & Co., Retail Purchasing Corp., and Yates County Dept. of Social Services. She was a member of the Milo Center Methodist Church and a past member of the Friend United Methodist Church, Guyanoga Valley Grange, Penn Yan Grange, American Legion Auxiliary, Women of the Moose, and the Moose Senior Citizen Club.
Doris is survived by her daughters Joyce (Charles) Chapman and Judy (Darryl) Carpenter; daughter-in-law, Diane Dinehart; her step-daughter, Joan Gollaher; her step daughter-in-law, Darleen Strong; step-son, Gary Strong; and grandchildren Melissa (Brian) Nolan, Shauna (William) Russell, Danielle (Kip) Jaszewski, Joyce (Kenneth) Douglas, and Karen Dinehart; as well as numerous great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husbands, she was predeceased by her son, Bruce Dinehart in 2010; brother and sister-in-law, Howard and Phyllis Milliman; sister and brother-in-law, Arlene and Lawrence Castner; step son, Lysle Strong; niece, Rita MacDonald; step son-in-law, Stephan Gollaher; grandsons, Daryl and Mark Swartwood.

Was so sorry to hear about the passing of Doris. She was one of my Mom's (Ruth Adams) good friends. So so sad. My condolences to her family especially my long time friend, Janet Castner. Doris was so good to my Mom. Peace and comfort to all of you.
