My thoughts and prayers to my classmate Steve and all of the Langenstein family. I'm sorry I wasn't able to be present at your mother's services, but my mother and brothers Steve and Tom were able to attend.

I remember your mom always with a smile on her face, and an aura of calmness to her, regardless of what was going on around her.

I also have many fond memories of the Langenstein family, including when my brother John and I walked to Loblaw's grocery store in Newark where Dottie was a check-out clerk and sang Happy Birthday to her; Mary used to "baby-sit" us (she was very brave-and tough); John and Tom hoping I would gag on buttermilk at their dinner table after I asked Dr. Langenstein what he was drinking and he offered some buttermilk to me; of course being classmates and teammates with Steve in football and track, and so on.

I grew up with great admiration of the Langenstein family--you faced a great number of challenges, you showed an abundance of grace, and you were fun to be around.

God Bless you all.

I would agree 100% with Karen's comments...Dottie was an amazing woman and I never understood how she survived on so little sleep! Her family was so blessed to have her for so long. Sorry I can't come to give hugs to all. Unfortunately, there is no one to take my shift at Fox Run winery where I work part-time so that I could come to the funeral. I do send my deepest sympathies and prayers for all the family as you deal with her death.

It must be divine intervention!!! Mike Guidarelli contacted me a month ago and I finally got back to him today! and he told me about your mom. Soooo very sorry. I have sooo much to tell you guys! I will be there and share. What an amazing lady she was and what a wonderful tribute I'm sure this will be!!! She was.....ahhhh far beyond any words I can say. She worked all night and then never missed a football game. That's how I remember her. Always so upbeat and always sooooo cheering on her kids. I dont think I'll ever know a more inspiring person in my life! And steve, when you surprised me with a visit...15 yr ago in BUffalo, when I was in a crisis with mom in the hospital.....timing was stressful but it was sooooo wonderful.....and to see your mom so vibrant still! OK I'll shut up. God Bless you all.
Wait til I tell you how I met Marty's son Pete!!! What a small world!!! crazy. God bless you all. Love Karen Gilbert Murrer
