Frank Oaks Obituary

STANLEY - Frank D. Oaks, age 76, of Stanley, N.Y., passed away at his home on Sunday (January 23, 2022).

Visitation for Frank will be from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Wednesday (February 2) with a funeral service immediately following at Doran Funeral Home, 4 East Bayard St., Seneca Falls.

Interment will take place in Oaklawn Cemetery in Oaks Corners in the springtime.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Ontario County ARC, ATTN: Friends of Ontario County ARC Foundation, 3071 County Complex Drive, Canandaigua, NY 14424.

Frank was born in Elmira, N.Y., the son of the late Frank and Helen (Close) Oakes. Frank spent most of his life in the Geneva, N.Y. area. He was of Catholic faith and was a member at St. Francis DeSales Church in Geneva. He spent many years working through Ontario County's ARC workshop program; a career that Frank found great pride and joy in. He retired from Abbey industries in 2008. Frank enjoyed gardening with the ARC horticulture program for many years, bowling, collecting miniature tractors, camping, loved spending time with family and friends, and attending the local farm machinery shows. On May 27, 2006, he married the love of his life, Marcia (Lane) Oaks, and the two have been inseparable since.

In addition to his beloved wife, Frank is survived by his niece, Susan (Robert Cook) Updyke; nephews, Scott (Donna) Arnold, Jeff (Bev) Arnold, and Kelly (Camille Buttiglione) Arnold; several great-nieces and nephews; as well as his close friends and the staff at the Seneca Castle House where Frank lived.

In addition to his parents, Frank was predeceased by his sister, Roberta Laribee.
