Frederick A. Kemp

CORNING – Frederick A. Kemp, 80, of Corning, passed away on Thursday (July 27,2017) at home.

Family and friends are invited to call from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday (August 5) at Central Baptist Church, 11791 East Corning Road, Corning, Fred's funeral service will follow there at 1 p.m. with Pastor Jon Pitman and Pastor Ronald Aebersold officiating. Burial will take place at Fairview Cemetery in Painted Post.

In lieu of flowers, those wishing may make donations in Fred's name to Central Baptist Church, 11791 East Corning Road, Corning, NY 14830

He was born on August 12, 1936 in Varick, N.Y., the son of Fred and Olive (McMillian) Kemp. He married Louise Williamson on July 11, 1958 in Waterloo, N.Y. She predeceased him on October 13, 2012.

Fred was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and brother and he enjoyed spending time with his family especially his great-grandchildren. He retired from Ingersoll-Rand in 1995 with over 40 years of service and he was a member of Central Baptist Church. Fred also liked hunting, fishing and traveling to the Outer Banks, North Carolina with his family.

He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Kathryn and Charles Harrison of Corning;, son, Scott Kemp of Parsons, Kan.; brother and sister-in-law, Ronald and Dell Kemp of Florida; grandchildren Melody (Joe) Guidry of Corning, Charles (Megan) Harrison II of Southport, Joy Kathryn (Samuel) Losco of Jacksonville, Fla., Ashley (Chas Perkins) Kemp of Sweet Springs, Mo., and Brandon Kemp of Parsons, Kan., and great-grandchildren Truleigh, Alice, Braelynn, Charleigh, Chaseon, and Frederick.

Fred was predeceased by his grandson, Joshua Harrison.
