Frederick Marciano Obituary

SENECA FALLS - Frederick R. Marciano Jr., 78, of Bridge St., Seneca Falls, died Thursday (April 21, 2011) at Lund Family Hospice Home, Gilbert, Arizona.
There will be no prior calling hours. Family and friends may attend Fred's funeral service at 9:30 a.m. Saturday (April 30, 2011) at Doran Funeral Home Inc., 4 E. Bayard St., Seneca Falls with The Reverend James Fennessy, Pastor of St. Patrick's Church, Seneca Falls, officiating. Burial will follow in St. Columbkille Cemetery, Seneca Falls.
If desired, contributions may be made to Pathway Home, P.O. Box 516, Seneca Falls, NY 13148.
Fred was born in Geneva, N.Y. on December 11, 1932, the son of the late Frederick and Mary Augustine Marciano Sr. He resided most of his life in the Seneca Falls – Geneva area. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. Fred retired from the Auburn, N.Y. City School District where he oversaw capital projects as Clerk-of-the-Works. He was an accomplished Stone Mason and enjoyed his art. He was a member of St. Patrick's Church, Seneca Falls.
He is survived by: His wife, Gloria Dragone Marciano of Seneca Falls, whom he married on February 11, 1956; one daughter, Mary C. Marciano of Ohio; two sons, Frederick (Carol) Marciano, M.D./PhD, Phoenix, Ariz., and Steven Marciano, Mesa, Ariz.; nine grandchildren: David, Nicholas, Kelly, Kim, and Melissa Marciano, Tara, Tyler, and Tanis Studt, and Robert Fancher; one great grandson, Noah Timothy - Sandoval; two sisters, Eileen Loder of Canton, Ohio, Mary Serrett of Geneva, N.Y.; one brother, Anthony (Joan) Marciano of Geneva, N.Y.; and several nieces and nephews
In addition to his parents, Fred was predeceased by two sisters, Dorothy Maultsby and Margaret Barber.

Steve, Fred, Mary and Mrs.M,
I was so sorry to hear of Mr M's passing. I hope you all take comfort in knowing he was a great man and a good friend. I enjoyed the talks we use to have at the kitchen table. He will be missed.
