Jacqueline D. "Jackie" Hyde

1928 - 2021

ROMULUS – Jacqueline D. Hyde, 92, of Romulus, N.Y. (formerly of Seneca Falls) died on January 4, 2021 in Stuart, Fla.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on April 24 at Calvary Lutheran Church, 2424 Rt. 414 N., Waterloo.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to Calvary Lutheran Church.

Jackie was born on July 22, 1928 to Clyde and Evelyn Defler in Buffalo, N.Y. She graduated from John Marshall High School in Rochester, N.Y. in 1946. Jackie married Robert A. Hyde in May 1954.

Jacqueline worked for many years in the medical field. She worked for Dr. Robert E. Wells in Rochester and later for Dr. Allen O'Sullivan in Seneca Falls. She was also employed for several years as a teller for Seneca County Trust Co.

Jackie was involved in many youth activities including being a Den Mother for Club Scouts and president of the Cady Stanton Mother's Club. She was active in Little League and football auxiliaries and PTA. Jackie was an avid golfer and a member of the Seneca Falls Country Club for over 50 years. She was a member of the Ladies Twilight League since its inception and was the Junior Golf Chair for many years. She was an avid bridge player and a member of several bridge clubs.

Active in her church, Jackie was charter member of Calvary Lutheran Church. She was a long time Sunday School teacher, soloist, and member of the church choir.

Jacqueline was predeceased by her husband of 60 years, Robert A. Hyde; and three sisters Jessica Olsowske, Jean Schuldt, and Joanne Buckert.

Jackie is survived by her sister, Sally Rohe; children Jeffrey (Vickie) Hyde, Stephen (Janice) Hyde, and Martha (Edward) Quarantillo; grandchildren Nicholas Quarantillo, Ellen (Peter) Sigmund, Travis Hyde, Michelle (David) Ruzga, and Harry Hyde; one great-granchild, Nicholas Quarantillo Jr.
