Sharon A. Hyde, age 80, of
Coffeyville, Kansas passed away with family members at her side on Saturday, March 7, 2026, at the Gran Villa assisted living facility where she resided.
Sharon was born on May 7, 1945, in
Batavia, New York to Stewart Clemens and Matilda Jean (Pendergast) Ehrhart. She was born a twin to her sister, Karen, whom she shared a very special bond with throughout her life. Sharon attended school at LeRoy Central in LeRoy, New York.
On July 10, 1965, Sharon married the love of her life, Bernard K. Hyde in LeRoy, New York. The couple made their home in
Batavia, New York until 1979, when they moved to
Coffeyville, Kansas. Of this union, three children were born. Bernard preceded her in death on January 10, 2009.
In addition to taking care of the children and tending to the house, Sharon worked various jobs throughout the years, this included Elmore's IGA and Wal-Mart. She attended church at the Coffeyville First Nazarene Church where she made many friends.
Sharon was very involved in the life and care of her special son, Ronald S. Hyde. She also helped raise her grandson, Brandon Hyde. Sharon felt some of the most rewarding times were being Granny to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She loved spending time and cooking with her granddaughters, Erin Adams and Hali Titus. You could find her and the girls in the kitchen making her bread and cream puffs; making her traditional Christmas Cookies with the family; making her Chex-Mix, and all her family enjoyed her famous Lasagna she would make for the entire family.
Sharon loved Angels, FROGS, the color Green and her Strawberry Ice Cream. To Sharon family was everything. She had a beautiful bond with her special brother, Richard Ehrhart. She would call him every Thursday night until his death along with her weekly call to her sister, Mary. Sharon loved spending time with her family, she enjoyed spending Monday nights playing Bingo with her daughter, Yvonne at the VFW in Independence, Kansas. She loved to receive phone calls and postcards as she followed the travels of her daughter, Cristal. Sharon wore a very special necklace given to her by her daughter, Cristal that was worn up until her death.
Surviving to cherish her memory is her daughter, Cristal (Levent) Uluer of Ft. Lauderdale, Florida; her son, Ronald S. Hyde of Independence, Kansas; brother, David Ehrhart of LeRoy, New York; beloved sisters, Margaret (Ron) DeBellis of Stafford, New York, Mary Connolly of
Batavia, New York; four grandchildren, Erin (Jamal) Adams, Hali (Kyle Thurman) Titus, Brandon Hyde, Dakota Hoenshell; five great-grandchildren, Rhea Titus, Jayla Adams, Juna Adams, Demi Thurman, Jurnee Adams along with numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends.
Sharon was preceded in death by her parents, Stewart and Jean Ehrhart; the love of her life, husband, Bernard K. Hyde; daughter, Yvonne Hoenshell; beloved twin sister, Karen (George) Smith; brothers, James (Joe) Ehrhart, Richard Ehrhart; sisters, Judy (Joe) Bovenzi and Linda (Rino) Cianci.
Following Sharon's wishes, cremation has taken place under the direction of David W. Barnes Funeral Home in Coffeyville. A Graveside Memorial Service will be held later this year on Friday, July 10, 2026, at Spring Hill Cemetery north of Coffeyville where she will be laid to rest next to her husband and daughter.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions can be made to Mosaic of
Coffeyville, Kansas in which her son, Ronald attends the non-profit day service program, or to Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice; these may be left with the funeral home or mailed c/o David W. Barnes Funeral Home 306 N. Cline Rd.
