James Snow Obituary

WATERLOO - James Charles Snow, 69, of 102 E. William St., died Wednesday (April 3, 2013) at Huntington Living Center in Waterloo with his loving wife by his side.
A memorial service and burial at Sampson Veterans Memorial Cemetery will be announced at a later date.
In lieu of flowers contributions may be made in honor of his dedication to Seneca County Christmas Project, 23 Center St., Waterloo, NY 13165.
Jim was born June 3, 1943 in Baldwinsville, the son of Arlyn and Irene Robinson Snow. He was a 1962 graduate of Baker High School in Baldwinsville then served his country in the U.S. Navy until '66 during Viet Nam. After his service he returned to Chicago Freedom Company and Simplex Office Equipment and Repair. He moved to Baldwinsville in 1979 and worked for Culligan Co. as a salesman, then working in sales management for CNY and the Finger Lakes areas. After leaving Culligan he was the regional manager for Rich Plan Foods in Geneva. He also worked for the Seneca Falls PennySaver for 4 years before starting Snow's Media, which was a marketing and advertising company. After retiring his business he worked part time for Lowe's in Waterloo. Jim was Pack Leader for Boy Scout Pack 74 at St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Waterloo. He co-founded the Waterloo Business and Professional Association and helped with the development of Celebrate Commemorate in Waterloo. He was members of Waterloo Memorial Post 6433, V.F.W. and Warner Van Riper Post, 435 American Legion, where he was past Commander. He was a past president and long time member of Waterloo Rotary Club, having been given the Paul Harris Award. He was a member and the current Vice President of the Finger Lakes Stamp Club. He was the founder of the Waterloo Community Garden.
He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Cheryl Snow; three sons, Michael (Christine) Snow of Chicago, Ill., Christopher Snow of Geneva, Philip (Melanie) Snow of Washington D.C.; daughter, Anne (Jeff) Conner of Hanover Park, Ill.; daughter-in-law, Kaitlin Snow; four grandchildren, Dylan, Sean, Dakota, and Jack; two brothers, John (Dale) Snow of Fulton and Tim (Jan) Snow of Landenberg, Penn.; three sisters; Leta ""Mary"" (Bob) Kenney of W. Farmington, Maine, Diane (Pete) Allen of Baldwinsville, and Dawn (Al) Mitts of Leesberg, Fla., and many nieces and nephews.

We lost a great person with the passing of Jim. He touched many people in Waterloo and worked hard to make it a better place for all. God must have needed someone to take care of his garden.
