Janet Hayton Obituary
Friends and family may call from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Friday (June 11) at Townsend Wood and Zinger Funeral Home, 201 Elm St., Penn Yan, NY 14527.
A memorial service celebrating her life will be held at 10 a.m. on June 12 at the funeral home.
Burial in Lakeview Cemetery in Penn Yan will be held privately for her family.
Janet was born on October 17, 1956 in Penn Yan, N.Y., the daughter of the late V. Jane (Nielsen) and George B. Jensen. She was a long term employee at Long's Books and Cards in Penn Yan. She was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, a past member of the Two Cylinder Club and loved stock car races. Janet is well know in the Mennonite community for providing transportation.
Janet is survived by her brother and sister-in-law John and Cheryl Jensen; nieces and nephews Laurie Mitchell, Bryan Jensen, Christy (Jason) Richards, Eric (Shannon) Jensen and Stephanie (Charles) Rudat; and several great-nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Janet was predeceased by her brother, James Jensen; and companion of 16 years, Dennis Zgardzinski.
