Dr. Buckley was my doctor for 4 years when I moved here from out of state. He was so kind, funny, and always remembered the small things. I think of him often and was devastated by his passing. He was taken from us so soon and I sincerely hope he knew that so many people cared for him.

It´s hard to believe it´s been 4 years since we lost him. He was a great doctor, I measure all others against his level of care, no one comes close to him. You are all in my thoughts and prayers at the time of remembering.

So sorry to read of John's passing in the Hobart, Pultney Street Survey. I remember how excited he was when accepted into medical school. He was a good friend of my late husband's at Hobart. He was such a good person, so I'm sure he was an excellent and caring physician. My heartfelt sympathies to his family.

I was very saddened by the news of John's passing. We worked together at the Hurlbut nursing home, and he was my mom's physician.

I was the nursing supervisor that three him a party and made him a plaque of appreciation.

I last saw him when his mother inlaw passed away.

I know how much the medical community is missing his compassionate service. Your families loss I cannot fathom.

We knew Dr John Buckley for over 20 years. He was the kindest and most understanding physician we ever knew. He was very compassionate and always showed sincere concern about your well being and your family. He was an extremely competent and responsible physician. He would often call patients at home to follow up on their progress. A physician like Dr Buckley is hard to find in this world. He not only took care of your physical health but also your soul and spirit. We will truly miss him.

Dr. John Buckley had been our family Dr. for generations, his Uncle before that. What a wonderful, kind, accepting, caring Dr.who will be missed by myself and my family. I just had a 6 month zoom appt. with him the Thursday before his passing. I was so shocked when I walked into work the following Monday and my sister took me aside to tell me of this terrible tragedy of losing you. I am devastated still however, I just could not get through the day without crying. Dr. Buckley you were so wonderful, always asking how the family was and allowing me to open up to you about things that were bothering me. I remember when I came down with walking pneumonia and you helped me through it even as I was close to death at the time. My deepest condolences to your family, especially your wife and children who you always spoke so fondly of. I will miss you forever.

Dr.Buckley was one of the most wonderful men I had ever met in my life. He was so caring as a doctor and as a friend. I can honestly say I loved this man. My wife and I saw him for approx.25 years and she felt the same way. He was genuine, and his bedside manor was second to none. As a child I had such a horrible experience with a doctor that I feared going into an office or hospital, I would literally shake sometimes uncontrollably. But John understood and he made sure I was ok everytime I saw him. It took many years but I liked to think we became friends and I trusted him. We will miss him more than I can Express. We will continue to pray for his family and friends and staff for comfort in their time of grief.
We are so grateful to have had him in our lives.

May 31, 2020

Words cannot express how sad we are to hear of this news. Dr. Buckley cared for our family for more than 15 years. He provided excellent care to our father in the final years of his life and was always available to talk with. Charlie and I were stunned to learn of John's passing. Our prayers are with his family, whom he spoke of often and loved so much.

May 31, 2020

We became patients of Dr. Buckley in the 1990's. He was kind, personable and professional. Besides taking care of our physical needs, he always asked about our family and we would chat about life. When our sons aged out of the pediatrician's office, Dr. Buckley took them on as patients. Our whole family will miss him greatly. He was a wonderful doctor and a genuinely nice person. Our prayers are with the Buckley family.

Donna Hubbard

May 31, 2020

Dr. Buckley was my late husband's and my primary care doctor for many years. Our two daughters started seeing him when they aged out of the pediatrician's care. Dr. Buckley would call me at my job at the health department to get updates on a particular disease that was going around at the time.
I was in the ICU 3 weeks after my husband passed away, and Dr. Buckley called to tell me how sorry he was to learn of my husband's passing. Two years prior to that, Dr. Buckley gave me his cell phone number to call him if we weren't being told what was going on care wise about our youngest daughter who was in the ICU after a very bad motorcycle accident.
Prayers to Dr. Buckley's family, co-workers and friends for peace and comfort. My deepest sympathies to all of you.
The Hubbard family extends our condolences and may God bless you all.

Dr. John Buckley was one of the best Doctors to work with. I didn't physically work with him but I had patients of his and would call his office and on call often, as needed. (I work at a facility) Doctor Buckley NEVER gave me a hard time. He was fast with replying and when I called the on call service, HE himself answered! I said wait this is the actual Doctor?! he giggled and said it is. He always was good to me and my coworkers whenever we needed clarifications or help. He would take the time to explain situations as well. This was actually a learning lesson too as I have been in healthcare for 10+ years. I am heartbroken over hearing the news. The whole staff was in shock and sad. Some co-workers had him as a Doctor! I have NEVER heard anything bad about Doctor Buckley. He will be missed by the healthcare community. Thank you for all you have done for the patients, staff and myself! To the family, I give my condolences to you. You are all being thought of during this hard time. Best Regards,
Alaina P.

John grew up with my husband and they were close friends throughout their lives. My husband introduced me to John when John was a student at Hobart. They would often reminisce about all their childhood adventures, it was priceless to listen to and watch them. Any stress they were feeling in their lives Over the years, was lessened after their crazy visits, we noticed. John was the most generous, giving, thoughtful person who was constantly in tune with the needs of others, and always tried to make a positive impact especially through his wonderful wit and sense of humor. He was a wonderful family man who adored Kathy, Carolyn and Tim.
He is irreplaceable and we will never forget him

My first rotation in residency at Strong after graduating from medical school was with Dr Buckley. I was a scared intern and he was such an inspiration to me. I loved the way he treated his staff, patients, and those that were learning from him. I elected to work with him a few more times during my training. I am shocked and very sad to hear of his death. Our community will suffer a great loss; both his patients and other medical providers that have worked with him so closely over many years. I am so sorry for your personal loss.

Dr. B (as he referred to himself to me) was the best. He always listened. Always asked about my family. Heard me cry. Got me diagnosed when every other doctor treated me like I was crazy. Spoke often about his children and wife. Such a down to earth person. So hard to find, especially in his profession. I send many prayers to his family. He will be sorely missed.

My mom just told me the news and my husband and I looked it up online to confirm. I had only ever gone in for one appointment, sometime before or in between moves to Florida, just for a physical. There was no reason to go above the bare minimum for a one-time patient. Nevertheless, he sat there and gave me all the time I needed to answer any of my questions. The thought has crossed my mind a few times over the years, why cant I find a doctor like Dr. Buckley where I am? Then I thought it strange that I would I remember him at all, that there must be other doctors like him and I just havent found them. Reading the other comments, I realize he truly was a wonderful, one-of-a-kind individual, and Im grateful he left an impression on me and it looks like many others. My parents and I are on the phone reminiscing about him now, and wishing he was still here. Sending my heartfelt prayers to his family and friends during this difficult.
