John Jones Obituary
Friends may call at the DeVaney-Bennett Funeral Home, 181 N. Main St., Geneva, on Tuesday (December 20) from 9:30 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. Members of the Nester Hose Co. of the Geneva Fire Department will meet at 10 a.m. at the funeral home for a service.
A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11 a.m. at St. Francis de Sales Church. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery.
Memorial contributions in his memory may be made to Ontario Yates Hospice, 756 Pre Emption Rd., Geneva, NY 14456.
John was born in Geneva and was a lifelong resident. He was the son of the late Frank and Catherine Hoffman Jones. He was retired from Local 73 of the Welders Union. John was a 50 year member and life member of the Nester Hose Co. of the Geneva Fire Department. He was also a member of Our Lady of Peace Parish.
He is survived by his loving wife, Allene; his children, Mark (Melanie) Jones of Geneva, Lisa Sheppard of Geneva, Timothy Jones of Geneva, Jonalle (Donald) Wheeler of Geneva, Karen Lapresi of Fayette, Lonette Jones of Tenn., and Kenneth Jones of Tenn.; his brother, Frank (Diane) Jones of Phoenix, Ariz.; 17 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was predeceased by his son, Joel; his grandson, Timothy; and his brothers, Kenneth and Henry.
