John Liberatore Obituary

INTERLAKEN - John Liberatore, 69, passed away peacefully on Sun. (March 2, 2014), at home, with his loving wife, daughters and loyal dog, Willie, by his side.
Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. Fri. (March 7), at the Palmisano-Mull Funeral Home LLC, 28 Genesee St., Geneva. A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Sat. (March 8), in the funeral home. Burial will follow in South Lyons Cemetery.
John was born on Feb. 17, 1945, in Lyons, N.Y., and was a son of the late Vincenzo and Anna Rose (Borriggine) Liberatore. He worked as a curb setter for Geneva Granite in Geneva. John enjoyed spending time with his wife and family. He also adored his animals, especially his parrots. One of his favorite places was the OTB where he really enjoyed the camaraderie with his friends while they bet on the horse races. He also enjoyed westerns, fishing, NASCAR, and above all else, his macaroni. He was also the #1 fan and supporter of his nephew, boxer Rocky Fratto. John also took pride in being a mentor to his great-nephew Mario who he thought very highly of.
He is survived by his wife, Sandra Haskin Liberatore of Interlaken, N.Y.; sons, Christopher Scott (Melanie) Riek of Geneva, Vincent (Carol) Liberatore of McKinney, Texas and Jimmy (Michele) Lee of Cameron, N.Y.; daughters, Melissa (Justin) Adams of Middle port, N.Y. and Michelle (Ian) Liberatore-Belanger of Ovid, N.Y.; step-son, Christopher (Pam Supek) Houseknecht of Haytes Corners, N.Y.; brother, Paul (Pam) Liberatore of Cape Coral, Fla.; sister, Concetta (Ralph) Fratto of Geneva, N.Y.; grandchildren, Kristen, Emily, Amanda, Olivia, Vincent, Anthony, Camden Dylan and Caiden; several cousins, nieces and nephews.
John was predeceased by his brother, Gerarado "Jerry" Liberatore.

Rest in Peace John. We never got to know each other real well but i was glad to have known you. I remember dancing with you at Bob's 70th Birthday Party. I had fun as I know you did. You were good to Sandy and made her happy and that is what matters. Goodbye my nephew-in-law.

to Sandy and John, I am glad I was there to help out when you both needed me. John Winkie will always remember you being at OTB. all we did was ask where John was and he would say Johns at OTB.And Willie he would not leave your side. I hope they have a lot of macaroni in HEAVEN and don`t forget the salad. John I will miss you very much, and remember when I said I would see you again well I meant that I would see you on the other side. And so will your Loving Wife Sandy. May You Rest In Peace Until that day Arrives.Thank You for Loving my sister as much as you did. Good Bye My Brother{in law).

I've know Johnny since my early childhood, and always considered him to be a part of my extended family. I worked with him on construction during my teenage years, and admired his quick wit, as well as his work ethic. He wasn't a big man, but he had a big heart. John was the proverbial "stand up" guy who truly loved his friends and his family. I feel his loss more than I can ever express.
