Joseph McCarthy Obituary
Friends and family are invited to call on Friday, January 9, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Mull Funeral Home, 113 Virginia Street, Waterloo. A funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, January 10, at 10 a.m. at Saint Mary's Church, Waterloo. Burial will follow in Saint Mary's Cemetery.
Joe was born on July 19, 1966, in Waterloo, the son of Joseph L. Sr. and Sharon B. (Appleman) McCarthy. He was a 1984 graduate of Waterloo High School. For many years, Joe served the community as a dedicated postman with the Canandaigua Post Office, where he was known for his reliability, kindness, and easygoing nature.
He was a proud member of the Big Oak Golf Course and was the first person to bowl a perfect 300 game at the Penn Yan bowling alley-an accomplishment he cherished. Joe especially enjoyed boating, fishing, and mowing lawns, and he found great joy in time spent with his family and friends.
Joe is survived by his mother, Sharon B. (Appleman) McCarthy; his brother, David F. McCarthy; and his nephews, David "DJ" McCarthy and Bradley McCarthy. He is also survived by several aunts, uncles, and cousins.
He was predeceased by his infant sister, Sheila Marie McCarthy, and by his father, Joseph L. McCarthy, Sr.

Joe was such a good guy!!! We've had many laughs and good times whether it was at my brother Butch's house or a party, Joe always made me laugh. He was like a brother to me and always will be!!! Love you Joe, rest easy, until we meet again.
