Lynne Baldridge Obituary

NORTH ROSE - Lynne Marie Baldridge (née Thorpe) passed away peacefully on Tuesday (February 17, 2015) at the Pines of Peace Hospice Care Home after a long struggle with cancer. She was 57.
Calling hours will be held Friday (February 20) from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 and 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Farnsworth-Keysor Funeral Home, 5025 Main St. in North Rose. A funeral service will held Saturday (February 21) 10:00 a.m. at Believer's Chapel, 7912 Thompson Road, Cicero, N.Y., 13039.
In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to Believer's Chapel School of Ministry, or to the Pines of Peace, 2379 Ridge Rd., Ontario, N.Y., 14519.
Lynne was born in Ilion, N.Y., in 1957, daughter of Robert A. Thorpe and the late Jane C. Thorpe (née Daz) of Mohawk, N.Y. She grew up in Mohawk and graduated from Mohawk Central High School (now Jarvis High School) in 1975 at the top of her class. In 1979, she graduated Magna cum Laude from Alma College in Alma, Michigan. After graduation, Lynne spent a year in Portland, Oregon, before returning to central New York where she worked for ADP Corporation, Eastern Paramedics, the American Red Cross, and Keane IT Services (later part of NTT Data Corporation). She lived mostly in the Syracuse area, but spent several years in Albany managing ADP's Albany office. In 2001 she married Kenan Baldridge and the couple settled in Kenan's home town of North Rose, N.Y. Family was extremely important to Lynne, and she was regarded as a source of strength by and for those close to her, whether family or friends. She was devoted to her mother, who passed away in 1996. Lynne pursued studies at the Believer's School of Ministry, training as a lay minister, plans that were tragically cut short. Nevertheless, by her daily example, she preached The Word to all who knew her.
Along with her husband, Kenan Baldridge, Lynne is survived by her father, Robert A. Thorpe; and step-mother, Faith Thorpe of Aberdeen, North Carolina; and her sister, Leigh Thorpe of Ottawa, Ontario. She will be dearly missed by friends and family.

Feeling very sad at the loss of Lynn, a warm and nurturing person. I worked with Lynn for couple of years in Syracuse, I will cherish those memories. May God put her in a special place from where she will be watching us, the people who loved and cherished her. May God give the family the strength to bear the great pain.

Lynne was not only a wonderful co-worker, she was a wonderful person. I loved her perseverance and that she never gave up hope. I work remotely (from Maryland) and she was helpful on so many occasions to me and made my job so much easier. Each Christmas time I would stop in the office and bring her a donut to chat, and most of the time she was fixing something wrong on my PC at the same time. I have missed chatting and emailing her over the last few months, and now that missing/loss is permanent. I am incredibly saddened by the news, and pray for your strength and your family to get through this tough time. Know she was loved/respected by her peers as well
