Ronald Butler Obituary

WATERLOO - Ron Butler, 85, passed away Saturday (August 14, 2021) at Geneva General Hospital.

Friends and family are invited to call from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Saturday (August 21) at Mull Funeral Home, 113 Virginia Street. Burial with full Military honors will immediately follow in Joslyn Cemetery, Phelps.

Ron's family request memorial contributions be directed to the Waterloo Sportsman's Club, 2654 Edwards Road, Waterloo, NY 13165.

Ron was born on August 23, 1935 in Phelps, the son of the late Clinton and Ardell Jane (Hood) Butler. He was a 1954 graduate of Waterloo High School. He served in the US Army from May, 1956 thru March, 1958 and received the rank of SP4. His time in the reserves ended in April of 1962. After 35 plus years as a Chemical Operator at Evans Chemical, he retired in 1996.

He enjoyed fishing, dancing and was a member of the Waterloo Sportsman's Club.

Ron is survived by his loving and supportive wife of 57 years, Shirley A. (Gassner) Butler, whom he married March 7, 1964; his sons Ronald (Judy) Jr., Raymond (Kimala), Roger (Lisa) and Ryan (Missy) Butler; 18 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Besides his parents, Ron is preceded in death by his sisters Catherine TenEyck and Patricia Allen; and his brothers Kenneth, Paul and John.
