Ruth M. Shipley

Waterloo, NY - Ruth M. Shipley, 91, formerly of 106 N. 3rd St. in Allegany, passed away Tuesday (October 13, 2015) at the Seneca Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Waterloo where she had been residing for the past number of years.
There will be no prior calling hours. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Saturday (October 17, 2015) at 11:30 a.m. at St. Bonaventure Church in Allegany. Rev. James Vacco, OFM, pastor, will be the celebrant. Burial will follow in St. Bonaventure Cemetery.
Memorial Masses for Ruth will be appreciated by the family.
Born February 24, 1925, in Olean, she was the daughter of Joseph C. and Mayme Dieteman Boser. On July 20, 1946, in Allegany, she married Robert S. Shipley, Sr. who predeceased her December 13, 1995. Ruth was the owner and operator of a beauty shop in her home for many years. She enjoyed gardening, reading and spending time with her family.
She is survived by her only son, Robert (Lena) Shipley, Jr. of Waterloo and two grandchildren, Jeff of Waterloo and Christine of San Francisco, Calif., and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband of 49 years she was predeceased by four brothers, Edward Boser, Earl Boser, William Boser and Richard Boser, and five sisters, Josephine Wilson, Laura Boser, Vivian Finch, Catherine Cross, and Betty Stomieroski.
