Sandra Thompson 71, passed away on Monday, August 25, 2025 at St. Francis Park Assisted Living in Kennett, Missouri. Sandy was born on Monday, April 26, 1954 in Sikeston, Missouri to Loyne and Ann Porter Simpson. On June 22, 1974 in New Madrid, she was united in marriage to Kenneth K. Thompson. He preceded her in death on August 1, 2024.
As a wife of an Air Force man, Sandy had the opportunity to live in many different areas, including Rapid City, South Dakota, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Izmir, Turkey and Layton, Utah before returning to Southeast Missouri and residing in Malden. Sandy attended and graduated from Lilbourn Highschool in 1972. Since she was a military wife and lived in many different places around the world, Sandy had several jobs in her lifetime. She waited tables, worked in factories, ran a laundry mat before obtaining her A.A. Degree from Stevens-Heniger College of Business in Ogden, Utah in 1991. She then worked as a secretary for State Farm Insurance in several locations, VNA in Kennett and DAEOC in New Madrid, Missouri, where she retired.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, Jerry and Brad Simpson; sister, Joyce Patterson and grandson, Chandler Thompson.
She is survived by her four children, Chasity Thompson of Campbell; Michelle Thompson of Piggott, AR; Anthony Thompson and Jonathon Thompson both of Malden; eight grandchildren and a great-granddaughter.
Visitation will begin at 1 PM, Friday, August 29, 2025, at Landess Funeral Home in Malden. The memorial service will follow at 2 PM in the Landess Funeral Home chapel with Rev. Jeff Polk officiating. Interment will be in Evergreen Cemetery in New Madrid, Missouri where a committal service for Sandra Thompson and Kenneth Thompson will be held. Military Honors will also be held for Kenneth.
Landess Funeral Home and Crematory of Malden is in charge of the arrangements.

So sorry to hear about her passing. She was such a wonderful person and great friend. We had so many good times together. I will always remember her calling for Angel Marie and Michelle. If she called Angel Michelle, only my daughter would come. We were like family. I will miss her.
