Edwin McFarland Obituary

Mr. Edwin R. McFarland, age 87, of Roswell passed away Feb. 16, 2012. He graduated from Forsyth High School in 1941 and served three years in the Merchant Marines. He was an entrepreneur of dry cleaners and apartment ownership. He was a self-made man. Mr. McFarland also had a love of music and enjoyed traveling to bluegrass festivals.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara McFarland; and son, Kim P. McFarland.
He is survived by his companion, Martha Lord; son, Eric McFarland and his wife Erin; sister, Myra Cross; and many nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held Tuesday, Feb. 21, at 2 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Pastors Nathan Ridgeway, Mirek Hufton and Sam Butler officiating. The burial will follow at Green Lawn Cemetery. The McFarland family will receive friends Monday, Feb. 20, from 4-7 p.m. at Northside Chapel Funeral Directors in Roswell.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be offered for macular degeneration research at www.ahaf.org/macular/.
Northside Chapel Funeral Directors in Roswell is in charge of arrangements.

I am so sorry for your loss. I worked for Mr. McFarland at his cleaners on North Peachtree many years ago and thought very highly of him. God Bless to all of you.
