Dear Mr. and Mrs. Miller,
Please accept my sympathy in the loss of your lovely daugther Hailey. It was an honor to take care of her. I felt like through your memories, paintings, and pictures that I was allowed to share a part of Hailey that made her such a special daughter, sister, and friend. We meet many families in the PICU but rarely do we see a family that was bonded by such a deep love and support for their daughter and for each other. Your grace and understanding towards the staff at such a difficult time in your lives touched me very much. To dear Adrianne, I know you will continue your loving care for all of your siblings just as you so strongly supported Hailey. I hope you will continue singing and go forward towards the special plans that God has for you at BYU.
My thoughts, prayers, and sympathy are with all of you.

I feel privileged to have known Hailey even for a short time. I am so saddened at this loss for all who knew her, especially her family, but to all at West Forsyth High School as well. She had a lot of friends because she always had a smile for others. She was such a hard worker in my math class and spent time with me for extra help occasionally. I'll miss her so much in my class. I've been praying for her family and her friends and will continue to do so.

Our daughter, Taylor, played on the same 7th & 8th Grade Basketball Team as Hailey, so we got to know her and her family very well during those two seasons. What impressed us the most about Hailey is the energy she brought to each game. She didn’t start but she got in most games. She would come into the game like she was shot out of a cannon and would energize the team with a key play on one end of the court or other. It was more than just hustle, she was always in a good mood and nothing seemed to bother her. She had (has) a spirit that exudes happiness and contentment with herself which is unusual for girls at that age. We all know the knee injury ended her promissing basketball career and ultimately her life and that makes us sad. But her spirit lives on and that makes us happy. My family and I are better people as a result of knowing Hailey and her family. To them we say we are sorry for your loss and we love you.
