Joshua Wayne Jones, a native of Forsyth County, Georgia and a resident of Atlanta, Georgia, died Saturday, July 1, 2023 at Northside Hospital Atlanta. He was the principal of Halifax Strategies, Inc. Over the years, Josh represented a wide range of clients in various political and commercial spheres.
Along with his beloved grandparents, Josh was preceded in death by his parents, Wayne Hugh and Angelia Rae Jones; his aunt, Neta Dianne Jarrard; and his cousin, Tyler Barnett.
He is survived by his uncles, Allen (Sharon) Jones of Cumming, GA, Greg (Emily) Jones of Cumming, GA, Johnny Freeman of Dawsonville, GA and his aunt, Linda (John) Taylor of Cumming, GA. He is also survived by other family members including many cousins.
Josh obtained his Bachelor's of Arts in Political Science and Government and a Bachelor's of Arts in Public Relations from the University of Georgia (UGA) in 2008. He graduated with a Master's degree in Business Administration from UGA in 2016.
He was ranked in UGA's Bulldog 100 in both 2014 and 2016, taking a top-ten spot in 2016. Josh was named to UGA's 40 Under 40 list in 2017, earned a Distinguished Alumni Award from the State YMCA of Georgia in 2019 and was included in Marquis Who's Who in 2023. He was pursuing his doctoral degree in social psychology.
A celebration of life will be held at noon on Saturday, July 15, 2023, at McDonald & Son Funeral Home in Cumming, GA. The family will receive friends here on Friday, July 14, 2023, from 4 PM to 8 PM.
